Kristina, Your Host
Hey there!
I’m Kristina Crosbie a Canadian mortgage agent of 15 years, a mom of three, and the founder of Broker Life Socials.
I’ve been in this industry long enough to see what really moves the needle for mortgage brokers… and what keeps them stuck.
I started my career in underwriting at Genworth (now Sagen), worked my way into full-time brokering, and eventually built a second business helping brokers with the piece most of us struggle with; staying visible, consistent, and connected to the people who need us.
Over the years, I’ve learned that success in this industry isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing the right things… with confidence, simplicity, and support.
Inside this podcast, I bring everything I’ve learned from:
• funding thousands of files
• coaching overwhelmed brokers
• running Broker Life Socials
• building email lists, automations, funnels, and content that actually converts
• and juggling real life at the same time, school drop-offs, hockey rinks, and everything in between.
My goal?
To help you show up with more clarity, more confidence, and more freedom… without burning out or feeling like you need to be everywhere at once.
If you’re a mortgage broker who wants simple, doable marketing that actually grows your business you’re in the right place.
And I’m so glad you’re here.
Mortgage Marketing Made Simple
What If You’re Closer Than You Think?
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
You’re posting. You’re emailing. You’re trying to stay consistent.
But it feels like nothing is happening.
In this episode, I’m talking about the phase most mortgage brokers quit in the quiet phase. The part where you’re doing the work but not seeing the results yet.
We’re diving into:
- Why visibility takes longer than people think
- The “ripple effect” happening behind the scenes in your business
- Why consistency matters more than intensity
- What separates the brokers who grow from the ones who disappear
- And why you might actually be closer than you think
If you’ve been questioning whether showing up online is even worth it anymore… this episode is for you.

Why Work With Me (and Broker Life Socials)
I’ve been in the Canadian mortgage space since 2005.
I started at Genworth Financial Canada, working inside the default insurer side of the industry for five years.
Then in August 2010, I became a licensed mortgage agent… and I’ve been in it ever since.
I’ve seen this business from every angle.
Underwriting. Broker side. Real client conversations. Real files.
And here’s why that matters
Marketing in this industry isn’t just about “posting consistently.”
It’s about understanding:
• how mortgage clients actually think
• what they’re worried about (but not saying)
• how to explain complex scenarios in a way that builds trust
That’s not something you can outsource to a generic marketing company.
Because if they’ve never:
• structured a deal
• explained a refinance
• walked a client through a tough approval
…they don’t truly understand your client.
Inside Broker Life Socials, everything is written by someone who lives and breathes this industry.
So your content doesn’t just “look good”…
It actually connects, builds trust, and converts.
Work with Me
Inside Broker Life Socials, you can choose what fits your season of business:
• Done for you social media content
• Plug and play email marketing
• Group coaching inside the Collective
• 1:1 custom content support
Simple. Consistent. Repeatable.

Hi friends, I'm your host, Christina Crosby. Welcome back to the pod. I'm so excited that you're here and can't wait to talk to you about what we're gonna talk about today. So let's jump right in. Today I want to talk about something that I see happen all of the time. And if I'm being really honest, I have to stop saying that. I keep saying that on this. Um, but I felt this way too. There's a moment in your business where it feels like nothing is working. You're posting, you're emailing, you're trying to show up consistently, and it feels like no one is watching, no one is responding, nothing is even happening. And it starts to get in your head a little bit. You start questioning is this even worth it? Is anyone seeing this? Should I keep doing this? And this is the exact moment most mortgage brokers give up. Not when things are really bad, not when they've completely stopped trying. They give up right here in this middle space where they are actually doing the work, but they're not seeing the results yet. Okay, that's the important part, yet. And that's the part that's really hard because from your perspective, it looks like nothing is working and nothing is happening. No leads, no engagement, no traction. You're putting in the effort and it feels like it's going absolutely nowhere. But what you don't see, my friends, behind the scenes, and what is building underneath that, because people are watching, they're quiet, but they're watching. They're seeing your posts, they're reading your emails, they're starting to understand what it is you actually do. And they're starting to trust you. They're just not ready yet. And that's the part that nobody talks about. There's a delay between when you show up and when people respond. And most people don't give that enough time. Instead, they start pulling back, they post less, they stop emailing, they stop engaging, and they disappear a little bit. And then they say, This isn't working. When in reality, they were right there, right before things start to shift. And this is where I want to talk about something that has really changed how I look at business. I call it the ripple effect. Everything you are doing right now, every single thing, every post, every email, every comment you leave, every conversation you have, you start. It creates a ripple. And the thing about a ripple is that you don't see the full impact right away. It builds slowly, quietly. One person sees your post today and keeps scrolling, but they remember your name. Another person opens your email. Maybe they don't reply. But something you said sticks with them. Someone else watches your stories for weeks, never says anything, but they're paying attention to what you're doing. And then one day something changes for them. Their mortgage is coming up for renewal, they their payments feel tight. Something happens in their life, and guess who they think of? They think of you, my friend. And from your perspective, it feels like the file that came out of nowhere. Like, oh my gosh, this person just reached out. I'm so excited. I can't wait to work on this file, I can't wait to help them. But it didn't come out of nowhere. It came from every single time you showed up when it felt like nothing was happening, and this is why visibility is not instant. It's absolutely layered, and it's repeated exposure. It shows up again and again, even when it feels quiet, and this is where people get it wrong. They think I posted for a week and nothing happened. It was crickets. I sent two emails, no one responded. That's not how this works. This works because of consistency, not intensity. It's not about going all in for one week for seven days. It's about showing up for months. And I know that's not the exciting answer you wanted to hear, but it's the honest one. And I want to say something. I might ruffle some feathers, it might feel a little direct, but people don't quit because it's not working. They quit because they're uncomfortable. They quit because it feels slow. They quit because it feels uncertained. And they quit because they're putting in the effort and not getting immediate feedback. And instead of sitting in that discomfort, they pull back, they distract, they distract themselves, and they start looking for a new strategy, a new idea, a new way to do things, hoping that this next thing will finally be the thing that works. But the truth is, most of the time, it's not that you need something new. It's that you need to stay consistent with whatever you're doing already long enough for it to actually work. And this is where the real shift happens. When you stop asking, is this working? And you start asking, am I showing up? Like the person whose business is working. Because the brokers who grow, the ones who actually build something, they don't wait for it. They don't wait for validation. They don't wait for likes. They don't wait for comments. They don't wait for someone to tell them it's working. They decide I'm doing this no matter what. They show up when it's working, they show up when it's not working. They show up when it feels easy. They show up when it feels hard. They show up when they're motivated, and they show up when they're not. And that's what builds momentum. Not one post, not one email, not one conversation. It's the accumulation of all of it. Over time, and I think especially in this industry, it's easy to fall into the trap of waiting. Waiting for the market, waiting for the leads, waiting for the referrals, waiting for someone else to send you business. But the brokers who actually grow, they don't wait. They create. They create conversations, they create opportunities, they create visibility, they make it impossible to be forgotten. And that doesn't happen overnight. That happens because you decide to keep going when it felt like nothing was happening. So if you're in that place right now where you feel you're doing all of the work and it's not paying off yet, I want you to hear this. And I want you to hear this so clearly. You are closer than you think. This is the most, this is the moment most people quit. And this is the moment that changes everything. If you don't, if you keep going, you keep showing up, you keep having conversations, if you keep putting yourself out there, even when it feels quiet, because the ripple is building, even if you can't see it yet. And if you want help with this, I know just the place. If you want structure, if you want consistency, if you want someone in your corner making sure you don't stop in this phase, that's exactly what we do inside the Broker Growth Collective. We don't just talk about showing up, we make it happen every single week with support, with accountability, and most of all with a plan. Our next round starts soon. So if you're ready to stop, if you're ready to stop starting and stopping, and actually stay can stay consistent long enough to see results and move the needle in your business, message me. And I'll send you all of the details. Because at the end of the day, the brokers who win aren't the most talented.
